The Journey

i smile and watch as one of the male open his jaws in a long yawn

their cute just like you

i smile and say: two she two male...

i slowly begin to get up then i whisper to Crystal you did great then i correct myself and said we did great and nuzzled her head with my head

i laugh quietly

i go in and i smell Crystal and something else so i walk over to her and ask her whats that smell then i see them and i pass out

i try to quiet them down again: it's ok young ones... it's alright

i look again realizing how vulnerable they were... blind and deaf...

the den was in view and i smile as i hear whimpers coming from inside

i smell snow outside the den and the pups start to wimper again...

I take a deep breath and i try to prepare myself for what i might see then i go into the den

i walk back to the den

the pups mew loudly and i say: shhhh young ones, it'll be ok

my gaze drifts outside the den

I take the scenic route back just taking in the view and i just keep walking till i got to the den and i waited for something to come out and hit me on the head. Then a acorn hit me in the head and i look up at our friends the Squirrel and his wife and their kids and i say what was that for then Mrs. Squirrel tells me to go inside. As im about to enter the den i hear sounds other than Crystal.

i curl up around them

i tell Falcon im not really feeling good so lets go back i will meet you there

i whisper to the pups: welcome to the world young ones...

i take down two hares so i wait for snow

about another hour passes when the pain stops... I pant but look down at the ground at the four beautiful pups love in my eyes

theres nothing to do so i go and help Falcon catch the food

walks off to go get some food for her

yea and...

a while passes and i just lie there

thinks: she'll be hungry when this is over...

your right but again theres nothing to do

there are some fights even the strongest warrior can't help with... and this is one let nature take its course...
